Do not disturb while driving is not only a useful function, it is also good for road safety. When the option is active, you will not receive notifications from, for example, WhatsApp, Messages and phone calls while driving. This makes you more focused on driving and traffic.
The option can be compared to the traditional do not disturb function, however, it is switched on automatically when you connect your iPhone to your car via Bluetooth or automatically when you are driving. You also have the choice to enable the option manually via the control panel.
Set Do Not Disturb While Driving
- Open Settings
- Navigate to ‘Do Not Disturb’
- Go to the option ‘Do not disturb while driving’
- Tap ‘Activate’
If you choose automatic, the function will be switched on as soon as movement of approximately 20 km / h is detected. If you choose Bluetooth, the option will always be enabled as soon as you are connected to the Bluetooth system in your car. Do you use CarPlay? Then the option will be disabled and you will receive notifications on your car’s entertainment system. We recommend choosing the option automatic or Bluetooth, but those who prefer to manually activate the option can follow the steps below.
Manually enable Do Not Disturb While Driving
- Open Settings
- Navigate to Control Panel
- Tap Adjust Controls
- Tap the plus button at ‘Do not disturb while driving’
- If necessary, move the option via the three horizontal stripes
Open the control panel and tap the car icon. Do not disturb while driving is immediately turned on. If the option is already active, you can also disable the option this way or by tapping the notification on the lock screen.
