Fitbit today introduced two new sports watches and an activity tracker. The Fitbit Versa 3 is the successor to the existing Versa 2. And the Fitbit Sense is a completely new high-end watch with a lot of attention for stress and well-being. In addition, the Fitbit Inspire 2 is arriving for people who only need a bracelet.
New Fitbit products for fall 2020
The new products were announced during a virtual press meeting. The Fitbit Sense will cost € 329.95 and is available immediately via pre-order at Fitbit.com and at retailers such as Coolblue and Bol.com. The Fitbit Versa 3 is also available at short notice and is one hundred euros cheaper with a price of € 229.95. The Inspire 2 is the cheapest new product and costs € 99.95. Accessories, such as replacement straps, are available for all the products mentioned.
Fitbit Sense: advanced smartwatch
With the Fitbit Sense, the subsidiary of Google wants to go a step further. It is the most advanced smartwatch that the company has released and it appears to be a replacement for the Ionic.
The Fitbit Sense is mainly aimed at people who find stress, relaxation and mental well-being important. It contains an Electrodermal Activity Sensor (EDA), which helps you manage stress. The heart rate monitor has also been renewed and there is a new ECG app. A skin temperature sensor measures whether the temperature on the surface of your wrist is still within acceptable limits.
The Fitbit Sense has more than 6 days of battery life and comes with a trial subscription of Fitbit Premium for six months. Moreover, Fitbit Premium is now available. A new health dashboard allows you to view your heart rate variables, respiration rate and SpO2.
Fitbit Sense is available for € 329.95 in carbon / stainless steel anthracite and ivory white/soft gold stainless steel. This makes it a lot cheaper than the Apple Watch Series 5 , but also a hundred euros more expensive than the Series 3 . Accessories are available from € 24.95 / 29.95 such as recycled woven straps, a rainbow strap, sports straps and more. Designer Victor Glemaud has designed special knitted bands for Fitbit, which are available for € 39.95.
Fitbit Versa 3: renewed successor
Also new is the Fitbit Versa 3, the successor to Fitbit’s most popular smartwatch. It has built-in GPS, shows a map of your training intensity in the app and has improved PurePulse 2.0 technology. The Versa 3 has gotten more features, including a built-in speaker and microphone for making phone calls. You can also give commands to Google Assistant, for example, to set reminders for your training or to control smart devices at home.
It includes Fitbit Pay and Spotify, and you can access thousands of apps and watch faces in the Fitbit software store. The design and interface are also a bit more towards the Fitbit Sense, with softer lines and more comfort. All functions that you have on the Fitbit Versa 3 can also be found on the Sense. The battery life is also 6 days and you can exchange accessories.
The Fitbit Versa 3 is available for € 229.95 in black aluminum, antique pink / soft gold aluminum and midnight blue / soft gold aluminum. You can also buy different straps for this.
There is also something new for people looking for a simple fitness tracker: the successor to the Inspire HR. The Fitbit Inspire 2 includes more advanced features. such as minutes inactive zones, an improved design and a more vivid screen. With a battery life of 10 days, this is the longest yet. It contains more than 20 workouts, you can measure your sleep and heart rate and can record nutrition, hydration and weight. You get one year of Fitbit Premium.
The Fitbit Inspire 2 is available in black, ivory white and antique pink for € 99.95. You can also buy accessories such as mesh and leather straps from € 19.95.
