Later this year, Huawei will launch its Mate 40 series, the last phone series with its own Kirin chipset. In addition to the details of the chipset, which came out earlier, this time even more details of the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro have been leaked. Oh, and we also know how expensive it is.
Huawei Mate 40 (Pro) leaked specifications
With the annual cucumber season in the tech sector drawing to a close, it’s time to look forward to Huawei’s Mate series. Huawei’s Mate series is often a combination of the good cameras from the P series, combined with the latest Kirin chipset.
In the case of the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro, we are making the switch from the Kirin 990 (from the Huawei Mate 30 and P40) to the Kirin 9000, which is based on a smaller 5nm process.
So much for the details that were previously leaked. Reliable rumor maker RODENT950 has published specifications of the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 (Pro) via Twitter. In his tweet, he mentions two code names: Ocean and Noah.
Ocean is the internal working name for the Mate 40, while the Mate 40 Pro is known internally as Noah. As with the Mate 30 Pro, Huawei’s ‘Noah’ is said to include a waterfall screen.
It is unknown exactly how large the screen is, it is expected that it will be a 6.76-inch diagonal. The panel is said to be given a 90 Hz refresh rate and is produced by BOE and LG.
In the case of the Mate 40 (non-Pro), a 6.4-inch panel would be present, with a 90 Hz refresh rate. On the Mate 40, the screen would be slightly rounded, as we have seen on the renders of the device before.
Three or four cameras
According to the rumor distributor, the Mate 40 Pro would get four sensors on the back: a 50 MP main camera, followed by an 80 MP sensor with a wide-angle lens, a periscope sensor with an unknown zoom option (optical) and finally a ToF sensor.
With the Mate 40, the manufacturer also chooses to use a 50 MP main camera, but the wide-angle sensor gets a 20 MP resolution. Finally, the device will receive an 8 MP telephoto sensor, according to RODENT950.
Several other details are also listed, such as the different battery capacities of 4,300, 4,600, and 5,000 mAh. Presumably, the 4,300 mAh battery will end up in the Mate 40, while the Mate 40 Pro will get a 4,600 mAh battery and a possible.
Mate 40 Pro + a 5000 mAh battery. For the time being, no details have been leaked about a possible Mate 40 Pro +, but it is possible. Huawei launched the same Pro + model for the P40 series.
Prices and availability
In another tweet, the rumor has leaked the Mate 40 Pro ‘s likely prices – mind you, these are Chinese prices that deviate from European pricing. Basically, the Mate 40 Pro would receive 128 GB of storage memory, for a suggested retail price of 730 euros (5,999 Yuan), while it is also possible to use 256 GB (790 euros / 6,499 Yuan) or 512 GB of storage memory (890 euros / 7,399 euros). Yuan).
The bottom line, it is important to take these rumors with a grain of salt, the rumor maker writes below his tweets. Many details are still blurred. Still, it does not have to take long for Huawei to introduce its Mate 40 series.
In other years, the Mate launch took place in September. Of course, the corona crisis may have thrown a spanner in the works. What do you think of the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro as they leaked? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of the article.
