Many smartphone enthusiasts could not ignore the Lenovo Z5 recently. This smartphone managed to create high expectations among enthusiasts. Long standby time, very thin bezels… and now it’s official; this is the Lenovo Z5. And it is actually a disappointment.
Lenovo Z5 announced
The Lenovo Z5 has been announced. In recent weeks, the device has been in the news several times. Lenovo itself also released teasers of the new device. A huge screen area and tasty previews were shown. Now that it has been officially announced, we can take stock.
With the Lenovo Z5, you indeed have a very stylish device in your hands. The screen edges are very thin, but Lenovo could not go for it to make the device completely borderless. We do see a notch and a very thin screen edge at the bottom. The teaser created the expectation that no notch would be present. This seems to have been deceived and we are made happy with a dead sparrow.
In terms of specifications, the device does not fall short. There is a 6.2-inch Full-HD + screen with a notch. Inside is a Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, along with 6GB of RAM and 64 / 128GB of storage. The Lenovo Z5 has equipped with Android 8.1 Oreo with Lenovo’s own skin.
The phone will have a 3300 mAh battery and Lenovo previously hinted that it should be on standby for 45 days. However, this is not true. The teaser previously shared by the company itself was not about the smartphone’s standby time, it now turns out. This related to a new hard disk drive presented by Lenovo; the 4TB internal storage also related to that.
Also striking are the colors in which the smartphone is available. We see blue, black and a twilight-like color as with the Huawei P20 Pro and Honor 10; a blue-green-purple color with a special light effect. There is also a dual camera with 16 megapixels, smart Ai functions and a converted price tag of 175 euros.
Those who would like to have the device will have to travel to China for this. The device is not released in the Netherlands or other European countries.
