Samsung is working on a special version of the Samsung Galaxy S20 that is internally called the ‘Fan Edition’. It is a variant that Samsung may want to launch as Galaxy S20 Lite.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition
Whoever thought we saw the last of the Galaxy S20 series is wrong. This year we got the S10 Lite as a cheaper variant of the Galaxy S10, but now Samsung is also working on such a cheaper variant of the current S20 series. It is not yet certain whether it will also carry the Lite name and according to Sammobile the phone is internally called the ‘Galaxy S20 Fan Edition’.
There are currently three variants of the S20 Fan Edition in development, a model with and without a 5G. Little is known about the specifications, because we only know that the device comes with the unreleased One UI 2.5 shell, Android 10 and at least 128 GB storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite
Snapdragon 865 chipset?
What made the S10 Lite so special is that the phone came with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor instead of Samsung’s own Exynos 9820. Samsung fans are increasingly opposed to using the Exynos chipsets because those processors tend to be less powerful perform in contrast to the Qualcomm chipsets, and recently fans even started a petition to counter the use of Samsung’s own chipsets.
If Samsung continues the line of the S10 Lite, this S20 Fan Edition, or S20 Lite with the Snapdragon 865 processor would appear. In other areas such as the camera, Samsung would push the price with the upcoming model.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite appeared together with the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, but this time nothing is known about such a Note variant. Are you looking forward to a Lite version of the S20? Do you have an S10 Lite or a Note 10 Lite? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
