Vivo has finally announced the Vivo X50 Pro with its unique gimbal camera. In addition, the manufacturer unveiled two other variants, namely the regular X50 and the X50 Pro Plus.
Vivo X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro Plus announced
Vivo has announced three new smartphones. The most characteristic is the X50 Pro which uses a special gimbal technique for its camera. The X50 Pro Plus offers improved hardware, such as a more powerful processor, but is not equipped with a gimbal camera. Finally, there is the regular X50. This phone is the most affordable and also gets a new record in its name. This will be the thinnest 5G smartphone on the market.
Vivo X50 Pro
The Vivo X50 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 765G, a new mid-range processor. The device has a 6.56 inch large AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2376 by 1080 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. To maintain this energy-guzzling screen, a 4,315 mAh battery is present. If this is not enough, you can charge the phone with 33W Vivo FlashCharge to 57% within 30 minutes.
There is a unique gimbal camera on the back. This works with a modified 48-megapixel IMX598 sensor. The gimbal ensures that videos have to be considerably more stable than on other phones. This is the most important feature of this device.
Furthermore, the Vivo X50 Pro has an 8-megapixel periscopic camera that offers 5x optical zoom and up to 60x hybrid zoom. In addition, there is a 13-megapixel portrait camera and an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera.
The European release and prices of the X50 Pro are still unknown, but the device is already available for pre-orders in China. Here there are two options, the 128 GB version for converted 542 euros and the 256 GB variant for 50 euros more. Both variants have 8GB of RAM. The phone is available in black and blue.
Vivo X50 Pro Plus
The Vivo X50 Plus lacks the gimbal camera. This compensates the manufacturer with a more powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset, a smoother 120Hz screen, and higher resolutions for the four rear cameras. In addition, there is a slightly larger 4,350 mAh battery that charges even faster with 44W.
The primary lens is paired with Samsung’s brand new 50-megapixel GN1 sensor, which will undoubtedly take good photos. Both the periscopic camera and the wide-angle camera offer a resolution of 13 megapixels. Finally, the portrait camera has also been improved. On the Plus variant, this delivers a resolution of 32 megapixels.
The Vivo X50 Pro Plus comes with an 8GB / 128GB and 12GB / 256GB configuration. It is still unknown when the phone will appear and how much it will cost. The phone is packaged in dark blue glass or tan leather.
Finally, there is the regular Vivo X50. It’s only 7.49mm thick, making it the thinnest 5G phone on the market, according to Vivo. This improves the phone to the previous record that was with the thickness of 8.1 mm on the name of the Oppo Reno 3 Pro. Of course, certain compromises have been made to achieve this.
The phone does not have a gimbal camera, of course, but it does offer a 48-megapixel main camera. The periscopic camera has been replaced by a 5-megapixel macro camera. The 13-megapixel portrait camera and the 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, on the other hand, remain unchanged. Also, the size, resolution, and refresh rate of the screen remain the same as with the Pro variant. However, the X50 has a slightly smaller 4200 mAh battery. However, it still supports 33W Vivo FlashCharge.
The X50 is of course the cheapest model of the three. The device costs converted 440 euros for the 128GB model. As with the Pro, it costs an extra 50 euros to get an extra 128GB of storage. You can choose between the colors pink, black and blue.
Later it will become known where and when the phones will appear. There is a good chance that we will see at least one device. When this becomes known, we also know how expensive the phones are in euros. Of course, you can read it here if more is known about a release.
